Volunteer Ombudsman

As a Volunteer Ombudsman, you can be an advocate for nursing home residents. Trained volunteers, under the supervision of CareLink’s regional ombudsmen, work with nursing home residents and their families.  A Volunteer Ombudsman typically visits a nursing home weekly.

You can be a Volunteer Ombudsman if you are at least 18 years old and have no immediate family members employed or currently residing in the nursing home that you will visit.

Each volunteer who participates in this program will complete a free day-long training class and 12 hours of orientation at his or her chosen nursing home.
